- from Laurie Anderson's obituary for her life-mate, Lou Reed
Not a long post, as I've been running from action-packed days to action-packed evenings and then to the retreat of a good book and my bed! We're into November, and it's wet, dark early, and it seems like the perfect time to go inwards and continue to work on a body of paintings and pieces. I feel like I have so much more to release onto my canvases...and the impulse and pull to go into my studio and create gets stronger and stronger. The painting above is mostly done, I'm pretty sure. I really don't know exactly where he came from - but it made me realize that I really miss drawing and painting figures and faces...so, I suspect that there will be more to come...
I have a solo show of my work in May! It's at a local arts cafe, and I'm pretty pumped. I think that the timing is good, as it'll coincide with spring and the sharing of all this internal wandering that I've been doing and will be doing throughout the upcoming winter months. I'll post details closer to the date. I really hope that some of you may be able to make it to the show.
What do you like to do during the winter months?
