Although I studied fine arts in university, attended several years of graduate school for two graduate programs in Art Therapy and Expressive Arts Therapies ( see: http://www.nancyorlikow.com)...the casualty of working full-time and becoming a parent of two incredible children, was my ability to sustain an art making practice. It was in 2007, while bleary-eyed and sleep deprived, when I was on maternity leave with my daughter - I would peruse the internet and the rabbit hole of the blog-o-sphere (good thing Pinterest didn't exist at that time!). Hallelujah!! My passion and my excitement were back (and then some!)! The incredible output of imagination and inspiration on the world wide web was sowing the seeds for my foray into attending art retreats and art workshops. I discovered that I was not alone in my deep burning quest to resurrect or ignite my creative path. I'll write more about the retreats that I've taken in another post - but, I just marvel when I look back and reflect on all the portals that have opened since I took a look around the net in '07.
Whether you're here as a friend that I've met in person, or as a kindred spirit of sorts - welcome!
